Once again I come to you as a mother. I guess this is because at this stage in my life, next to being a wife, it is my most important undertaking. My children are enamoured with the cuteness of the sock monkey. They have all begged and pleaded for one on more then one occasion. I being a fan of stuffed animals have wanted to oblige, as I also think some if not most sock monkeys to be pretty adorable (I have seen the odd hideous one). The problem is the more adorable they are the more costly they are, and remember I have to consider the cost times five of course. So I set out in search of a relatively reasonable, yet still cute looking sock monkey and came across this pattern which I have purchased. We Bella-Rose Design will now be making our finished sock monkey product available to you! Get ready for adorable, practical and can go with you everywhere...

We here at Bella-Rose Design are very excited about our up and coming new line. We have just made an awesome order at www.hairbowcenter.comwww.hairbowcenter.com . They have a great selection of ribbon with lots of different patterns, even plenty those who have a flare for the eccentric. We will be making many styles of bows on double toothed alligator clips. This allows them to be fully interchangeable with your crocheted bands and beanies (which will also be available in a large assortment of colours). So remember to keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of our new line. Here are some pictures of my two favorite models wearing the first design of many.
Right now I am gearing up to go on a trip with my husband and our eight month old daughter Aerabella...whom Daddy affectionately refers to as "Baby Belle". We will be taking a flight and spending a week in a conference to further our training for an effective ministry. This brought to mind the awkwardness that can sometimes occur while trying to nurse a baby. I believe that nursing gives my children a better bond with me as well as a better start nutritionally. It also provides convenience when travelling by making a lot less things to pack and prepare. Having said all this I know it is not for everyone and can be the cause of some interesting situations.
So I have put my creative thinking cap on and searched the market, coming up with a fairly simple project to add to my collection. It is not jewelry but was thought necessary because of Bella, so I will share it here with all of my faithful followers. I will also add it to my shop page. It is a nursing cover that provides the shelter and privacy needed to nurture your baby when you are unable to find a quiet, private spot. There is boning in between the straps that allows Mom and Baby to have eye contact so that the bonding can continue and be enriched. Bella and I have enjoyed ours already, and the good news is she cannot pull it off (she has gotten vary nosey and aware of her surroundings) so now Mommy has no worries :o) A couple more perks of the Peek-A-Boo Baby Bond are it up to conveniently fit into purses and diaper bags. It can also be used as lightweight cover that attaches to infant car seats and strollers, providing shade and shelter for your baby. I will keep you posted as to how much we have donated to Cancer!!! A couple of weeks ago I had a good friend phone and order a pair of earrings for her daughters birthday. She said she had a blouse she needed to match and told me they needed to be green with gold findings. "I have a lot of different greens" I said, "do you have a specific shade?" The answer came back apple green. "O.K. I have just the thing I said." Umm apples such a sweet juicy treat...Apple pie even better and my hubby loves pie. Saint patrick's day, even better still...we can celebrate...between that and my hubby's love for pie we have a great excuse for a good dessert! So off I went in search of Authentic Irish Desserts. It would not do to use the excuse of celebrating St. Patricks day if I could not claim it to be authentically Irish. What a find, we have now celebrated the GREAT country of Ireland twice and I am contemplating whether or not we should celebrate it again tonight. So on that note I am going to share with you all the recipe for my new favorite apple dessert:
IRISH APPLE CAKE 1 3/4 cups of flour 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder 1/4 cup butter (salted...if you do not have salted add 1/4 tsp salt to dough) 1/4 cup of dark brown sugar 1 egg 1/2 cup milk 4 large apples (I used Royal Gala not green but you can use your favorite :o) *Then I used these spices to taste for the apple centre; cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, ground cloves, and 1/4 cup of dark brown sugar...you can use whatever mix you would normally use to make an apple pie! Cut Butter into flour, and baking powder and mix till you have dry crumbs. Add sugar, beaten egg, and milk. put out onto floured service and knead in more flour till you have a soft dough...similar to the texture of a short bread cookie. Divide dough in half. Roll out one half to fit an oven proof plate...I use my 9x13 stone pan, but you can use any pie plate...forming your bottom crust. then peel and core your apples and mix with your sugar and spice mixture for the centre of your cake...I lay them all out flat in rows then put the extras in on top, but you can just pile them like a pie. Roll out your remaining pastry and fit on top, press the sides together, and cut slits or puncture lid with fork. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes till the top is golden brown. Serve warm with french vanilla ice cream, and enjoy! For all of my friends who are being conscious of what they eat if you cut it into eight equal servings it is only 233 calories ;o) I will take a picture of it next time I make it, to post for you all to see. While I was caring for my sick tribe this week, it was once again brought to my attention, more than once acctually, and in more than one way, that the virtuous women was fascinating. Not only did she take great pains to care for her families physical needs such as food and clothes, she also helped with there financial needs. She did many a craft, and produced with her own hands, to help out the well being of the household. It says "the heart of her husband doth safely trust in her" oh to have that spoken of me. To never have the urge to put ones spouse down, yes we are all human, but God has given me the perfect mate fit for me. When I choose to criticize him I am criticizing his maker, "Oh Lord bridal my tongue, that I may sing only praises unto you". Allow me to uplift my husband, as he is known to many in the community and I must be as a testimony unto him and not a stumbling block before him. My prayer is also, that I may be a woman who is worthy of the love and praise of her children, for I could have no greater joy!
So as I studied the Virtuous Woman, I came to the conclusion that there is nothing wrong with having a hobby, as long as my family is cared for and my Lord is honoured and glorified. To this end, I will dedicate Bella-Rose Design as my way of living the life that is taught me through the Virtuous Woman of Proverbs 31:10-31...10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. I hope you enjoy looking at my work and please feel free to pass on my website :o) May God richly bless you all on this His day! Well hello again! Just thought I would check back in and give you a little story that goes with one of my new designs. As many of you know by now, we added little person number five to our family in October. Yes the Lord has richly blessed us with five beautiful healthy children, the youngest being Aerabella Evangeline. For each one of my babies I came up with something I would collect for them. Aerabella's collection happens to be rubber ducks. In a bit irony though, she happens to be my one child who hates her bath. Did I say "hate", it is more like despise, for as soon as her little chubby toes touch the water shrieking ensues. Up to this point in her four months I have bathed her as quickly as possible forgetting about the fun the rubber duckies might bring. Thankfully her last few baths have started out with her crying for a few short minutes but before they are over we even get to see some smiles, YAY! Bear with me I really am leading up to a new design :o) During her last bath her big sissy, as Ebony has nicknamed herself, decided Bella might like a duck or two to look at. What a smart big sissy she is, for Bella quite enjoyed her two little ducks this time. It also gave mommy a chance to study them more closely and decide that the newest duck, which was a christmas present, was quite intriguing in its color scheme. This duck, I thought, might prove to be a fun muse for a piece of jewelry. So there you have it, and remember that I said FUN when you check out this piece.
As the creator of Bella-Rose Design, I just want to say "thank you" to my family and friends, who are believing in me and encouraging me to follow my dream. I have just received my 13th order (not counting all my Christmas gifts and the wedding order I have) and I could not be more pleased. I am so enjoying this new venture of mine, and have appreciated all of the feedback I have been given. I cannot not wait to forge on and design something special with you in mind. So as a way of showing my gratitude I make you this offer...for every new customer generated through you, you will receive 10% of their total towards your next purchase. Make sure your friends let me know they were referred to Bella-Rose Design by you when they place their orders. Here are a few of the special orders I have finished:
So while I was up at 5 a.m. Sunday taking care of Aerabella, a design popped into my head. When I finished with her and had her back to sleep, I took a look at the clock,.. it was shortly after six. Great! I thought,.. this gives me time to put my deign to action, because by the time I am able to put it out of my mind and drift back to sleep, it will be time to get up. So I went downstairs and put it together; then proceeded to place it at my husbands breakfast spot. I instructed my oldest son Seth to tell Daddy that this was what Mommy wanted him to buy her for valentines day...lets face it ..if he is going to spend money on me, he might as well buy it from me :o) Is that ingenuity or what? So I got the beautiful bracelet I wanted from my Valentine. Hey I was being a loving wife and thinking of how to take a load off him...it took all the guessing out of the "will she like this or not?"
